Are you headed to Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference(WWDC)? It’s taking place on June 3-7, 2019 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. We’ll be there attending the sessions and learning everything we can from thousands of coders, creators, and speakers. With so many things happening at this 4-day conference, we decided to narrow down the list to highlight some to look out for.
Sessions
What’s New in Core Location
When/Where: Wednesday, June 5; Executive Ballroom — 9:00 AM to 9:40 AM
Summary: Location technologies are core to delivering context-based services within your app. Discover how the latest features in the Core Location Framework lay the groundwork for advanced ranging capabilities and delivers more options for you to clearly communicate your location needs to your users, and allow them to provide more granular access authorization to your app.
Designing for Privacy
When/Where: Wednesday, June 5; Hall 1 — 2:00 PM to 2:40 PM
Summary: Privacy is a more important issue than ever for your users. Learn about new features and privacy engineering techniques that can help you earn customer trust, create more personal experiences, and improve user engagement.
Getting Started with Instruments
Summary: The Instruments app in Xcode provides a rich set of tools and templates for profiling your app performance. Learn all about Instruments and gain strategies for identifying bottlenecks in your code. See just how to leverage the power of time profiling and points of interest tracking to make meaningful changes to your code that can dramatically improve app responsiveness.

Getting Started with Reporting & Analytics
When/Where: Tuesday, June 4; App Store Lab 7 — 9:00 AM – 11:45 AM
Summary: App Analytics, Sales and Trends, and Payments and Financial Reports allow you to measure your app’s performance and get unique insights with data you won’t find anywhere else. Meet with Apple experts to gain a general understanding of how to utilize these tools to track your app downloads, proceeds, subscriptions activity, user engagement, marketing campaigns, monetization, and more.
Siri Shortcuts and SiriKit Lab
When/Where: Tuesday, June 4; Technology Lab 10 — 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Summary: Shortcuts and SiriKit allow people to have rich interactions with your apps through Siri when they’re on the go. You may have questions about how to get the most out of them and we’re here to help. Meet with an Apple engineer to review your code and talk about your resolve method, configuring your custom intents, or any facet of Shortcuts or SiriKit you may be stuck on.
Expanding to Canada

Summary: Meet with Apple experts to get your questions answered and gain insights about expanding to the Canadian market, including information on market opportunity, cultural considerations, pricing best practices, localization needs, and more.

Women@WWDC Breakfast
Moderator: Dawn Dagucon (Program Manager, Apple Entrepreneur Camp)

Summary: Open to all attendees, these informal breakfasts are a great way to meet some of the phenomenal people at WWDC while you start your day with a buffet. This engaging panel discussion features Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni and female WWDC Scholarship recipients. Moderated by Dawn Dagucon, Program Manager, Apple Entrepreneur Camp. This event takes place at the Hilton San Jose in the Market Room, located on street level.
Accessibility Lunchtime Get-Together
When/Where: Tuesday, June 4; Market Terrace — 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Summary: Bring your lunch and engage in casual conversations about accessibility with fellow developers, Apple engineers, and members of the Apple accessibility team. Meet Apple engineers who regularly use VoiceOver and Switch Control to chat about apps they use at work and how they recommend developing accessibility features. Set up the Accessibility Shortcut and show us how you can use VoiceOver to navigate your app or any app you choose. Successful navigators earn an accessibility pin.
Gender Inclusive App Design Get-Together
When/Where: Friday, June 7; Market Terrace — 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Summary: Bring your lunch and engage in casual conversations with fellow developers and Apple staff on designing apps for everyone. You can ask questions and share your learnings or success stories. Get inspired, share experiences, and envision new possibilities together.
